“Redha” wins three awards in Russia

13 Sep – “Redha” has etched yet another win in its list of achievements, or three wins to be exact, since that is the total of awards received by the local drama film at the XII Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.

“It is a great honour for a film like ours to be recognised by award winning juries. Alhamdulillah!,” director Tunku Mona Riza posted on her Facebook account following the movie’s triple win at the award ceremony held in Russia on 11 September.

The director shared that the first award given for the night was The Special Prize Nominated by The President of Tatarstan Republic For Humanism in Cinematography, which, of course, went to “Redha”.

The second award received by the movie was Special Prize of The Russian Guild of Cinema Critics and the third award was Best Actor in the Full Length Feature Film for ensemble cast Harith Haziq, Izzy Zulkhazreef and Nam Ron.

“Redha” is not done receiving awards as next month the movie on autism will also be receiving the Merit Award at the Los Angeles Awareness Film Festival (LAAFF 2016).
